I got in the mail this weekend a fresh shiny new copy of WordPress for Dummies, written by our colleague and friend Lisa Sabin-Wilson. She so graciously signed it for me but after further inspection, noticed she thanked both Joelle and I in the acknowledgments which blew me away. I mean, I’ve co-written a book and for some reason, seeing my name in the “thank you” section brought a wee tear to my eye. I had the pleasure of meeting Lisa at the BlogHer conference this past summer up in Chicago and she only confirmed what I knew of her online. She is a smart and funny woman who has written an incredible book.
I am a die hard ExpressionEngine girl, but I recognize the need and demand for WordPress and am spending a lot of time working on whipping it into shape. So to say I’ve been eagerly awaiting WordPress for Dummies is a complete understatement. I have already put it to use and I have purchased an extra copy to beat up on so I can preserve my signed copy. Whether you are new to WordPress or are an old pro in need of a good reference (not to mention, learn some new tips) this is the book for you.
Thank you Lisa for writing this book and for doing such a great job on it! I promise to buy you a drink at SXSW Interactive that doesn’t look like a swamp.

...’a drink that doesn’t look like a swamp..’ - - you crack me up lol
But, between you and I - - it DID look like a swamp! heh.
I’m SO glad to hear you liked it and are (hopefully) finding it helpful. As you already know, it’s kind of hard to put it all into perspective when you’ve been elbow-deep in the nitty gritty details of writing it.. so, to know that I ended up putting out a helpful reference book on WP makes me smile
Thank you for that!
Anyone who can listen to me (sometimes)
whinevent the way you two gals did during the past year of writing this book deserves .. at the very least.. and acknowledgement and a thank you!I shall take you up on that (non-swampy) drink in Austin, lady!

I had wondered what CMS you were using. Never saw the info at the bottom of the page. I must say that WordPress is perfect for dummies, even dummies like me
I always get a kick out of the word confirmation from your system; this time it is below13.
Funny. Are these random, or did your loverly twisted mind come up with a list?
from your moms.
Oh Yay!
Another book I can get to help my lame self out.
I will definitely be getting that one.
I always looked into ExpressionEngine, but it kind of scares me poo out of me, and WordPress just seems easier to deal with

Lucky. I went to my local Borders last night to pick up a copy but they didn’t have any. My friendly and helpful bookseller said the boxes likely hadn’t been unpacked yet. Then she asked me if I wanted to apply for a job. Ha.
