I just read an entry over at Miss Brandi‘s blog this morning that re-opened my eyes to the beauty of blogging. It’s been so many years I have done this and it has brought me so many good things. Friends that I call family, business that I love, a best friend, a published book, these things I am so thankful for… but most of all, it has given me perspective. So many times have I gotten so wrapped up in life that I forget to take a step back and enjoy it while it’s here. I forget that this, this moment right now, doesn’t last forever and what might seem like the end of the earth is nothing more than a blip on the big radar. Brandi, in her short sweet post, has reminded me how powerful this platform really is… that you can say a few words and change a person’s entire day. You can say a few not so nice words about someone you don’t even know and make them feel really small. Or you can say something personal to you and relate to so many other people in ways you never imagined. It’s what I love and have always loved about blogs.
Today, Brandi reminded me that time goes by too fast… and I thank her for that. Wow, I am so emotional. Is it pms time already??

Words really are powerful, and sometimes we need to be reminded of this. Another blogger advised me “If you build it, they will come” when I mentioned I was thinking of blogging my ownself. When I reminded her, she was blown away by how she had inspired me.

It’s also why you shouldn’t be careless with what you write if it’s not completely in jest. Or hell, even if it is.
