Thanks to everyone who commented about the peppermint bark recipes.  And for sharing your other favorites.  Today I am going to test run the peppermint bark to day attempt to make (and not screw up) dark and white chocolate bark.  Since I am stuck home with a toddler with the sniffles, we’re going to try it out.

Once I get the process down I am going HOG WILD and making as many variations as I can.  I am hell bent on this project and will not sleep until I get it out of my system.  Of course, once I perfect this, I’ll have to do it all over again so I can give people fresh batches but, today is The Great Peppermint Bark Experiment™.  I just refuse to spend $30 on a tin of it at Williams Sonoma… even though I spent $70 there yesterday on a gift.  *bah humbug*

I’ll post photos today as I finish up… I know you are all on the edge of your seats, giddy with anticipation.  Try to contain your excitement.

Can’t wait to see what you come up with! How bad can it turn out, it’s chocolate, right? smile

I was gonna say, you DO know that they sell that stuff all over the place, right? But if you refuse to pay for the already-made stuff, well, that answers that! (Also, I don’t know that I’ve ever seen it in any other form than white chocolate, which I think is sort of choccist, personally. Gimme dark chocolate and peppermint anyday! YUM!)

Can you take pictures as you go along in the process, please? Documented attempts at candy-making can make up some of the funniest blog posts ever, so keep that in mind. Even if you save it for next year’s NaBloPoMo…
