I realize Anna Nicole Smith is dead but how many documentaries are we going to be subjected to? Seriously. I think every time I go to the gym there is a Montage of Anna Nicole Smith on at least one channel. If I have to see one more documentary about her life I might shoot myself.

While we’re on the subject of things that shouldn’t be taking up time on television (or at least, nowhere near the amount of time they’re given):
Why is Natalie Holloway still international news? I’m not saying her murder was nothing or that it shouldn’t be solved and prosecuted. What I’m saying is, she was a girl who would up dead on vacation. That happens to a lot of people, and has probably happened to people since Natalie. Why aren’t *they* news? Ditto Jon Binet Ramsey.
And does anyone care about OJ Simpson’s every coming and going anymore? If so, why?
Come on, news channels. There’s been the biggest recall of beef in US history just happened, and Fidel Castro is stepping down. There’s bigger news out there than Natalie, Jon Binet, and OJ.

Ugh. I know exactly what you’re saying. I teach journalism to high school students and it’s disheartening most days to think about what actually passes as news these days.

this anna nicole nonsense is NOTHING compared with what we’ll have to see if britney doesn’t get it together and ends up in an early grave. at that point i’ll be saying hit-me baby one more time to knock me out so i don’t have to watch it ad nauseam.
