Cross posted from The Cocktail Blog but had to share it because it was yummy. My husband loves to grow watermelons, but then we’re stuck with massive amounts of watermelon hanging out in the fridge just begging to be mixed with vodka and other assorted alcohols. This was something Joelle and I concocted based on a few other recipes mushed together. It’s not perfect but with a few more tries I think it’ll be great.
Ingredients
• 2 shots Pear Vodka (Grey Goose L’Poire ...but I think regular vodka would work well too)
• 1 shot pear nectar
• 4 cold cubes of fresh watermelon
• splash of simple sugar (or fine sugar)
Mixing Instructions
In a shaker full of ice, add watermelon cubes, vodka, pear nectar and sugar. Close tightly and shake well to muddle the watermelon. Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with a slice of watermelon as shown. I think this would be great with a sprig of mint too. I used pear vodka with this but it would be excellent with regular good vodka too. Cocktail shaker back there in the photo courtesy of Cocktail Vibe.
If you try it out, let us know what you think!
