Ok Soprano’s enthusiasts.  I want to hear all your theories about last nights finale.  I have my own theory but I am curious to hear what other people think.

This isn’t actually mine, but I heard it on the radio today and liked it.  If you remember the episode with Bobby and Tony discussing what it’s like when you die, Tony said he thought it was just the end.  You don’t see anything, you don’t feel anything, you don’t know anything.  So, when the black screen came up last night, it’s because he got whacked.  I’m not sure that I agree with this theory, but I do like it (although I didn’t really want Tony to die at the end, it does give a bit of closure).  Does anybody know anything about the rumored movie?

Fuck.That.

Seriously, it’s all I can think of right now.

I think that Tony and family are alive and well eating onion rings, anticipating an indictment. Life goes on.  I don’t think the black screen signifies anything other than the end of the series.  If David Chase wanted us to think Tony was dead or anything like that he would have written it into the episode.  When Adriana, Christopher, Vito, Bobby, Phil, Johnny Sack or anyone else was murdered, we saw evidence of that.  Why wouldn’t he do that with a character as relevant as Tony?

I don’t think there is any one theory that is correct but I like that idea.  My thought was that since the show was primarily told through Tony’s perspective, there is not “ending” because he was shot right at that moment it stopped.  If he is dead, he can’t really tell us the ending.  Much like what Jill said.

Or they just want us to hang and speculate until a possible movie transpires.  They left that door open now didn’t they?  Either way, my first reaction was “what the hell?” but in retrospect, I think it was a brilliant ending.

And I just killed a fly with my bare hand.  Ew.
